Chapter History

The  Nu Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., was chartered  on December 7, 1991. The Charter Members of Nu Iota Iota consisted of  Great Men of Omega namely: Dr. Alphonso Willis, Dexter Jackson, Donald  Williams, Frank Reese, Robert Taylor, Rufus Felton, Thomas Peterson,  French Taylor, Dr. Arthur Hinton, George Allen, John F. Jones, and  William Earl Tarver. These brothers had a vision to broaden Omega’s  reach in Eastern Alabama. Furthermore, they believed that men of similar  ideals of friendship and fellowship should align themselves together to  form a more perfect union among men, to promote the principles of  Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift; to further brotherly  love and fraternal spirit, so they formed the Nu Iota Iota Chapter of  Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
